Why should you apply for Season 4?

Blockchain Founders Group is opening its gate to the BFG Superstars program for every web3 enthusiast and entrepreneur globally. For the upcoming season 4, BFG will select 50 high-potential candidates to be onboarded to the 3 months-long incubation program. The future founders are then vaulted into launching their startups with the full backing of the Blockchain Founders Group providing its mentorship, advisory network, company-building best practices, public presence, and the conviction of making you and your startup a Superstar. Finally, 6-8 startups are selected to receive the final pre-seed support of up to €70,000 and to be introduced to high-profile investors’ network.

The program offers everything from finding the right co-founder to expert workshops and exclusive Q&A sessions with leaders in the blockchain and venture capital industry. Topics such as customer development, community building in web3, protocol grants, pitch deck optimization, legal entity foundation, growth hacks, and much more are covered with the opportunity to directly implement the learnings for your startup - we take “learning by doing” to the next level.

Focus Areas of Season 4

The decentralized web, commonly referred to as web3 or the next-generation internet, has the power to completely alter how we use the internet and manage wealth. Web3 is decentralized and runs on a network of computers rather than a single server, in contrast to the present web, which is mostly centralized and managed by a small number of large tech companies. This indicates that compared to the present web, web3 has the potential to be safer, more private, and more open.

The Blockchain Founders Group is especially keen on developing businesses around the following non-exhaustive list of key verticals in the web3 space against the backdrop of trends and potential analyses:

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for entrepreneurial mindsets with a passion for blockchain technology. This could be someone who already has experience with web3 projects or someone who wants to make the jump from web2 to web3 with really any kind of background. What is more, you don't even need an idea or a team to participate. We will hold ideation workshops in the first phase, and we have some ideas ourselves that we find worth pursuing. Given that we are seeing 1000+ pitch decks per year, we know where the trends are headed and what works/does not work. Also, you will have plenty of chances to meet your perfect-fit co-founder within our program.

With that being said, in terms of the ideal founder profile, we do have a preference for entrepreneurs willing to prioritize the venture over different opportunities outside the program. We also prefer founders with a “hustler” mentality. For instance, if your first reaction to required outreach and marketing efforts is to say “let’s outsource it”, then this is a questionable approach, especially at such an early stage. Lastly, we observe that a founder-market fit is conducive to boosting a startup’s success chances. When a founder has extensive work experience and insider knowledge in the cross-border payments industry, then working on a venture built around stablecoins can make a lot of sense. This is not to say that industry pivots will fail but it takes time to build expertise and achieve expert status.
