We are happy to report that we have received over 200 applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and skill sets. In this article, we want to share some key insights and observations.
In terms of place of living, due to our remote working structure, we have seen applications come in from all across the globe. Although the largest chunk of applicants is European (~50%), specifically from the DACH region, there were Superstar aspirants from Africa, in particular Nigeria, the Middle East & Asia, North America, and Latin America. In total, our applicants had more than 20 different nationalities. We highly value our cohort’s diversity, as this allows us to get to know novice perspectives and ways of collaborating.

Similar to last season, the vast majority of applicants are keen on assuming the CEO role (75%), followed by potential Analysts (13%) and CTOs (12%). This confirms our impression of a lack of technical people within the space. While, broadly speaking, many executive and business development practices can also be used in the Web3 space, its technical requirements are fairly complex and new, and many developers, due to the industry’s young age, still have some catching up to do.
Similar applies to the male-to-female ratio, which stands at 4.75/1, i.e. 1 out of ~6 are female. However, unfortunately, female underrepresentation is quite common within the blockchain and crypto space at the moment, which is why we actively seek to encourage women to enter the Web3 domain.
So far, our overall acceptance rate has been around 25%, with several interview sessions still to be conducted.
